This show is made possible through a generous Music in Action grant from the Live Music Society, which supports small venues and listening rooms across the United States. GRAMMY nominated singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Becca Stevens has built a singular sound at the crossroads of Appalachian folk, jazz, and adventurous indie, crafting music that is both technically daring and emotionally disarming. Raised in a deeply musical family and shaped by early performing experiences, she has become a magnetic collaborator working with Jacob Collier, Taylor Eigsti, the late David Crosby’s Lighthouse Band, Michael League, Attacca Quartet, Brad Mehldau, Gretchen Parlato, Ambrose Akinmusire, Antonio Sánchez, Kneebody, and many others while leading her own longstanding Becca Stevens Band. Her projects span contemporary classical premieres, film music, international ensembles, and critically acclaimed solo albums, including her 2024 release Maple to Paper, a stripped-down, profoundly intimate meditation on motherhood, grief, and transformation recorded live in her home studio. Whether writing for voices, strings, or the screen, Stevens remains guided by fearless curiosity, poetic storytelling, and an unmistakably personal musical voice one that continues to inspire artists and audiences across genres.
Virtuosity meets imagination in this extraordinary trio. Harp innovator Motoshi Kosako, fretless-bass legend Michael Manring, and master percussionist Chris Garcia fuse jazz artistry with global rhythms in an electrifying cross-cultural dialogue. Their interplay is at once lyrical and daring—where intricate improvisation, tonal beauty, and rhythmic invention converge. Drawing on jazz, classical, and world traditions, KOMAGA TRIO delivers music that defies category yet feels deeply familiar—poetic, dynamic, and breathtakingly original. Expect world-class technique, fearless spontaneity, and moments of transcendent beauty from three of today’s most distinctive instrumental voices.” Genres: Original Jazz-ethnic Fusion
