Broadways breakout star Julie Benko (Funny Girl, Harmony, Ragtime) makes her highly anticipated return to Catalina Jazz Club - and shes bringing the Big Easy with her! Joined by her jazz-pianist husband Jason Yeager, Benko brings her signature sparkle and soaring vocals to a joyful celebration of their new album, Euphonic Gumbo. This spirited love letter to New Orleans features jazz classics (Pretty Baby, Basin Street Blues), haunting folks ballads (The Lakes of Pontchartrain), Disney favorites (Ma Belle Evangeline), and more. After selling out her annual Mardi Gras concert at Birdland in NYC four years running, Benko is taking the show on the road. Come join the paradenobody, no nobody, is gonna rain on this one! This show is made possible through a generous Music in Action grant from the Live Music Society, which supports small venues and listening rooms across the United States. GRAMMY nominated singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Becca Stevens has built a singular sound at the crossroads of Appalachian folk, jazz, and adventurous indie, crafting music that is both technically daring and emotionally disarming. Raised in a deeply musical family and shaped by early performing experiences, she has become a magnetic collaborator working with Jacob Collier, Taylor Eigsti, the late David Crosby’s Lighthouse Band, Michael League, Attacca Quartet, Brad Mehldau, Gretchen Parlato, Ambrose Akinmusire, Antonio Sánchez, Kneebody, and many others while leading her own longstanding Becca Stevens Band. Her projects span contemporary classical premieres, film music, international ensembles, and critically acclaimed solo albums, including her 2024 release Maple to Paper, a stripped-down, profoundly intimate meditation on motherhood, grief, and transformation recorded live in her home studio. Whether writing for voices, strings, or the screen, Stevens remains guided by fearless curiosity, poetic storytelling, and an unmistakably personal musical voice one that continues to inspire artists and audiences across genres.
