Live Jazz in New York

Following their much-loved performance at GatherNYC in 2023 as part of the early music collective Twelfth Night, violinist Rachell Ellen Wong and harpsichordist David Belkovski return to the stage for a charming and intimate recital featuring impeccably performed Baroque gems. GatherNYC is a revolutionary concert experience founded in 2018 by cellist Laura Metcalf and guitarist Rupert Boyd. The 2025-2026 season includes 31 concerts that run from October 2025 through May 2026, with concerts held every Sunday at 11am in The Theater at MAD. Guests at GatherNYC are served exquisite live classical music performed by New York’s immensely talented artists, artisanal coffee and pastries, a taste of spoken word, and a brief celebration of silence. The entire experience lasts one hour and evokes the community and spiritual nourishment of a religious service – but the religion is music, and all are welcome. Coffee and pastries are served before each performance at 10:30am.

Weston’s music connects jazz to African rhythm, history, and spirit, blending elegance, groove, and deep cultural pride into a sound that feels both intimate and expansive. From meditative melodies to driving, trance-like rhythms, his work was meant to be felt as much as heard. About The Yardbird Big Band, conducted by Alto Saxophonist David DeJesus, brings together some of the best musicians in New York City to play the music of Birdlands namesake, alto saxophone icon Charlie Parker. This 11-piece ensemble performs new big band arrangements of Charlie Parkers most famous compositions.

New Jazz Underground, an innovative American jazz trio, has earned acclaim for their distinctive approach in establishing themselves as a defining voice in jazz and beyond. Merging traditional jazz sensibilities with modern influences like swing, hip-hop, house/afro-beat, and afro-cuban music, the trio gained recognition through viral videos showcasing their chemistry, musicality, and raw ambition. Comprising Abdias Armenteros, Sebastian Rios, and TJ Reddick, each lauded as promising young jazz artists, the Juilliard School graduates have achieved accolades, including winning the 2023 DCJazzPrix and the 2024 ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award. Beyond performance, their independent video production sets a new standard for jazz presentation, attracting millions to an authentic musical expression blending modernism and tradition.
