About A singular new voice in contemporary jazz, Lucía Gutiérrez Rebolloso fuses traditional American jazz with the warmth of Latin folk, weaving soulful standards together with bolero and son jarocho—folk music from her native Veracruz. Lucía made history as the first Mexican finalist—and eventual winner—of the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition in 2022. In this evening with her quartet, Lucía honors her cultural roots while also bringing her luminous voice to new interpretations of favorites, including “What a Difference a Day Makes” and “Blame It On My Youth.”
