Rizzoli Music Aperitivo and Mondo Jazz are thrilled to renew their partnership with the Peperoncino Jazz Festival with a special appearance by the Stefano Battaglia Band, a dynamic ensemble connecting the Italian and New York jazz scenes, celebrating the release of their new album, "One Mile Away". The band features an outstanding lineup: Daniele Germani (saxophone), Daniel Sky (trumpet), Emanuele Filippi (piano), and Avery Logan (drums). "One Mile Away" is an adventurous and deeply cinematic journey through shifting musical landscapes — from explosive rhythmic turns and free-form explorations to richly melodic passages charged with emotional immediacy. Rooted in the restless energy of New York while shaped by the lyricism and imagination of the Italian jazz tradition, the music moves with urgency, surprise, and narrative drive. The result is a fresh, vibrant sound world where compositional sophistication meets fearless improvisation. THE PEPERONCINO JAZZ FESTIVAL is an itinerant musical fair that for 25 years has been uniting countless local municipalities in the Italian region of Calabria, strengthening the ties between local identity, culture and sustainable tourism. Continuing a well-established tradition, this year the festival is back to New York for its “New York Sessions” bringing together the best of the New York and the Italian jazz scenes. RIZZOLI BOOKSTORE Established in New York in 1964, Rizzoli Bookstore moved in 1985 to its historic 57th Street location, where it resided for 29 years before relocating in 2015 to its current NoMad location on Broadway. It has been widely considered one of the foremost independent booksellers in America specializing in illustrated books on architecture, interior design, fashion, photography, cookery, and the fine and applied arts, as well as literature, foreign language books and international magazines. Rizzoli Bookstore has been, and will continue to be, a literary landmark in New York City, and a celebrated destination for important authors and book lovers from all over the world. MONDO JAZZ Mondo Jazz is a weekly program on Radio Free Brooklyn dedicated to the proposition that jazz is an international language. In both name and practice, Field Blend Selections celebrates agricultural traditions and diversity. The name is an homage to the nineteenth-century immigrants who co-planted an assortment of grape varieties in vineyards throughout the United States, many of which survive today. Alongside their vines, they often co-planted other crops, including fruits, grains, and legumes. This approach of co-mingling various plantings to achieve balance in the vineyards is now referred to as polyculture, and it is widely recognized as one of the best methods for naturally enriching soils and reducing disease. Polyculture, by replicating nature’s diverse ecosystems, produces healthier fruit without the necessity of artificial herbicides or pesticides.
